    Soft boards come out. New plywood goes down where the old deck gave.

  2. Tapered insulation

    Pitched a quarter inch per foot, so every drop runs to the drain.

  3. Cover board

    A hard face for the torch. The heat never reaches the foam.

  4. Base ply

    Torched to the board, laps rolled tight, run up the parapet.

  5. Cap ply

    White granulated face over the base, 8 inches up the wall.

  6. Coping

    A new metal cap over the parapet, sealed at every joint.
